Town halls this weekend!

With budget bills coming and cutoffs looming, NOW is a critical time to touch base with legislators

Action is heating up in the state legislature. The next cutoffs are Friday, Feb. 23 (policy bills), and Monday, Feb. 26 (fiscal). Then all bills must pass off the floor by March 2. The final days are spent on budget, reconciliation and initiatives, and the session ends March 8.

Following is information about the budget, bills, and town halls.

Budget proposals are expected from the Senate on Monday, Feb. 19, and from the House on Tuesday, Feb. 20. On Tuesday at 3:30 both chambers will hear budget bills.

Many state legislators representing King County communities are hosting live town halls this weekend, with a couple more hosting telephone town halls during the week. Most, but not all town halls are on Saturday. Be sure to check the date.
